I'm super pumped about what we found and can't wait to move in in about six weeks. Y'all want to hear about the house (yes, it's a house!)? If you're reading, I'm guessing that's a yes! I think it's about time to tell y'all about it and share some photos the agent took of the place.
First, some facts about our little house:
- It's a renovated row house that was originally built in 1850
- There two bedrooms and two baths - quite an upgrade from a one bedroom!
- The kitchen, living and dining areas are one big open space on the first level
- A sliding glass door leads to a nice-sized patio out back
- The two bedrooms are upstairs on the second floor
- And bonus - there's a fully finished basement with great storage
It checked all the boxes on what we were looking for in our new place. I honestly couldn't believe we found a place that met all of our must haves plus all of our nice-to-haves. I'm excited to put our stamp on it and make it ours - I hope y'all will follow along with us on this new journey!
Now, onto the good stuff - photos! Keep in mind that these were the ones the agent took, so the quality isn't quite what I'd like it to be, but it definitely gives you an idea of what it looks like.
When you walk in the front door, the kitchen is immediately to your left. Although I generally prefer white cabinets, I can't complain too much about this kitchen since it's recently been renovated and in good shape!
Straight ahead you can see the living/dining area that runs to the back of the house (sorry it's so dark). Those glass doors are the ones that lead to the back patio. Oh, and I forgot to mention in the "house facts" that there's a wood burning fireplace. Total bonus. Never even crossed my mind as something put on our list of nice-to-haves.
Here's the living room looking back toward the front door and kitchen.
Stairs going up to the second floor...
This is the second, smaller bedroom that the current tenant is using as an office - which is what I'll be doing too. That means my home office will no longer be in the bedroom (praise the Lord!).
For some reason, they didn't take a photo of the master bedroom, but I'll tell you, it's about what you'd expect from a bedroom. :)
Now we head all the way back down the stairs to the finished basement. Here it is unfurnished...
...And furnished as a guest bedroom. I think we may do something similar since the second bedroom upstairs will be my office. We definitely want to have room for guests to come and stay with us.
Here's the basement from another angle. The door you see leads to the combination washer/dryer (has anyone used one of those? I haven't...) and the second bathroom.
So that's the quick and dirty tour our future home! Yay! Philadelphia, we're coming for you!
That's so cool! You will be pretty close to me then ;)
